The neighborhood you advertise into is the one that gets paid.
Every dollar you spend on HomeStoop funds two things: the platform operating cost, and the homeowners in the radius you advertise into. When your ad lands on a home's page and the owner opens it, they earn HST tokens redeemable to their bank account via Stripe.
HomeStoop is being built as a member-owned cooperative. The homeowners aren't the product; they're the network. That's why the opens happen — they're getting paid to pay attention.
Common questions.
How is this different from Facebook / Google local ads?+
Facebook and Google target people. HomeStoop targets homes. Your ad lands on the property page — always visible, no algorithm. When homeowners open it, they earn. That's why they open.
What's the minimum campaign budget?+
$25. Below that we can't reliably fill a meaningful radius. There's no monthly minimum after that — spend what you want, stop anytime.
How do I know my ad is landing on real homes?+
Every property on HomeStoop has verified address data from OpenAddresses (public government-source registry). You pick the radius; the delivery cron enumerates every real address in it. Delivery counts are visible in your dashboard as they land.
Can I stop a campaign that's not working?+
Yes. Pause or cancel from the dashboard. Remaining budget is either held for a resumption or refunded to your card on request — reply to your receipt email.
Do I need to be a business?+
No. Individuals running a garage sale, small event, or neighborhood service can advertise. The wizard doesn't require an EIN or business license.
What can't I advertise?+
No scams, no political campaigns, no misleading claims, no illegal products. We reserve the right to pull an ad and refund pro-rated for cause. Real local businesses and services are welcome.
Where does my ad appear on the property page?+
Currently: in a dedicated ad slot on each opted-in homeowner's page. The slot is styled distinctly so it's clearly a paid ad, not editorial content. Homeowners see it every time they visit their page during the campaign window.
